GLIDE/WELLS FARGO DROP IN CENTER
A safe, welcoming space in the midst of the chaotic Tenderloin community, the Drop In Center is Glide's resource hub, a place where crises are calmed and questions answered. Highly-skilled Case Managers, Intake Specialists, and Housing Advocates listen to each person's concerns, referring clients to Glide programs and community resources that give them the tools they need to help themselves.
In their assessments, the staff treats the clients in a holistic manner. They understand that self-esteem, access to medical care, reliable housing options, childcare, and employment opportunities are integral pieces of a person's health and well-being.
The Glide/Wells Fargo Drop In Center provided services to 2,190 individuals in 2006 with emergency supplies; information and referrals on Glide’s services and those of external agencies; counseling; shelter reservations; rental assistance; advocacy and a legal clinic.
Shelter Reservations can be made in the Glide/Wells Fargo Drop In Center through the CHANGES system. Shelter Reservation services are held Sundays - Fridays from 7:00AM - 11:00AM including holidays.
The Legal Clinic is located in room 100 every other Wednesday from 1:30PM - 4:30PM. Attorneys are on hand to answer questions, assist with legal issues, and make referrals to other free legal opportunities if needed because of the nature of the problem. Completing a Drop-In Center intake is required, as is making an advance appointment for the legal clinic.
Representatives from the Social Security Administration are available to assist with all services and benefits. New claims require an appointment, but other services are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Social Security Adminstration services are located in Room 100 on Tuesdays, 9:30am - 12:30pm.
In the last year, the Center booked 5,707 shelter beds and helped 120 homeless persons move into permanent housing.

SENIORS' SOCIALS
The elderly are one of the Tenderloin's most isolated and fastest growing groups. Guest speakers, special events, intergenerational activities with the Youth Program, and one-on-one advocate counseling and case management surround seniors with opportunities for sharing, growth, stability, and empowerment. The Seniors' Socials are located at the Glide Coffee House right next to the Glide Dining Hall on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:15am - 11:45am at 330 Ellis.
For more information on the Seniors' activities, please call Kim Armbruster at 415-674-6138.
