4 Questions: Madiha Qader

What brought you to GLIDE?
I started my journey at GLIDE as an Epworth Intern in 2006. I learned a lot about GLIDE, the services we offer, and the rich culture where everybody is welcomed.  I reconnected with my GLIDE family last year when I started working as a Payroll Specialist. The reason why I returned was I wanted to be part of such an organization which stands on strong values, feeds hungry people every day, helps them recover, and is radically inclusive.
What does diversity and faith mean to you?
To me, diversity is accepting and respecting other’s differences. Diversity is also welcoming the differences. Faith is a feeling inside somebody. Faith is what you think about when you are in trouble. It could very well be based on somebody’s religious beliefs. To me, it’s my Allah who I have faith in and I do believe that Allah is with me no matter where I go.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is that I get a chance to connect to all GLIDE staff, which is also a big responsibility. It is very important that I meet all the staff keeping in mind GLIDE’s core values.
What does I am GLIDE mean to you?
I am GLIDE means that I am with GLIDE on working on the core values of GLIDE. It means I share the same ground that GLIDE stands on, and I accept being radically inclusive.  I am proud to be a part of GLIDE.
