 en’s History Month! This March\, we are doing everything we can to sho
 w our love for women and families. With women’s rights under attack\, 
 honoring the achievements and contributions women of all backgrounds hav
 e made throughout US History is absolutely vital. Join us in remembering
  those who paved the way in the struggle for gender equity in the United
  States– and recognizing history-makers and barrier breakers of today.
 \n\nThis year\, we are honored to have an iconic American labor leader a
 nd civil rights activist\, Dolores Huerta as a featured speaker. Please 
 RSVP here. \n\nDolores will speak of the challenges and achievements of
  her path\, as well as the contributions and future of the Latinx/immigr
 ant communities in these uncertain times. Her speech will be followed by
  a question-and-answer session\, led by our Host Moderator Olga Talamant
 e.\n\nAlso joining us is Danza Xitlalli a cultural\, spiritual\, and cer
 emonial group committed to preserving the Indigenous traditions of Danza
  Mexica.\n\nDanza Xitlalli's vision is to honor the Natural World and pr
 ovide a space for the traditions and Indigenous wisdom to be passed on t
 o future generations.\n\nIts the oldest Danza Azteca Mexica Indigenous C
 eremonial Dance groups north of the Mexican border founded by Maestra Ma
 cuilxóchitl and Maestro Francisco Camplis\, under the guidance of El Ge
 neral Pedro Rodriguez under the banner of Mexico’s Mesa del Santo Niñ
 o de Atocha.\n\nHost Moderator: Latina Civil Rights Activist\, Olga Tala
 mante\, is the Executive Director Emeritus of the Chicana Latina Foundat
 ion (CLF). She became the first Executive Director of CLF in January 200
 3\, serving in that position until March 2018. She received her BA from 
 UC Santa Cruz\, and Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of San
  Francisco. She is widely respected for her community activism and leade
 rship in the Chicanx\, Latin American solidarity\, LGBTQ\, Immigrant\, a
 nd progressive political movements. She currently co-chairs the Caravan 
 for the Children Coalition\, advocating for the children separated at th
 e border.\n\nGuest Speaker: Dolores Huerta\, is Founder and President of
  the Dolores Huerta Foundation. She co-founded the United Farm Workers o
 f America with Cesar Chavez. Dolores has worked for labor rights and soc
 ial justice for over 50 years. In 1962\, she and Cesar Chavez founded th
 e United Farm Workers union. She served as Vice President and played a c
 ritical role in many of the union's accomplishments for four decades. In
  2002\, she received the Puffin/Nation $100\,00 prize for Creative Citiz
 enship which she used to establish the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF). 
 DHF is connecting groundbreaking community-based organizing to state and
  national movements to register and educate voters\; advocate for educat
 ion reform\; bring about the infrastructure improvements in low-income c
 ommunities\; advocate for greater equality for the LGBT community\; and 
 create strong leadership development. She has received numerous awards a
 mong them The Eleanor Roosevelt Humans Rights Award from President Clint
 on in 1998. In 2012 President Obama bestowed Dolores with The Presidenti
 al Medal of Freedom\, the highest civilian honor in the United States.\n
