DESCRIPTION:GLIDE’s Center for Social Justice\, Congregational Life Co
 mmunity Engagement\, and the SF Sheriff’s Department Oversight Board a
 re hosting a community meeting on June 8th\, 2023\, at GLIDE Freedom Hal
 l\, 330 Ellis St. San Francisco\, Ca 94102 from 6 to 8 PM. The meeting w
 ill provide community members with a space to voice their opinions about
  the hiring of an Inspector General. The Inspector General will investig
 ate misconduct within the Sheriff’s Department.\n\nIn 2020 the voters 
 of San Francisco overwhelmingly voted for Proposition D. Prop D created 
 two new oversight bodies for the San Francisco County Sheriff’s Depart
 ment.\n\nThe Sheriff’s Department Oversight Board and the Office of In
 spector General\n\n 	The Office of Inspector General investigates miscon
 duct within the Sheriff’s Department.\n 	The seven-person Sheriff’s 
 Department Oversight Board makes policy recommendations to the Sheriff a
 nd Board of Supervisors concerning department operations\, complaints ag
 ainst employees and contractors\, and in-custody deaths.\n\nCommunity fe
 edback is important\, and we encourage you to join us and share your tho
 ughts and opinions about law enforcement accountability with the Sheriff
 ’s Oversight Board. Translation will be provided in Spanish and Canton
