GLIDE 2013: Looking Ahead with Zwazzi Sowo
“My hope for GLIDE as a whole is to up our game and step into our full potential as non-violent social justice advocates for all – starting at home first.” – Zwazzi Sowo
Throughout the rest of January, GLIDE staff will share their hopes and intentions for the coming year on our blog. Today’s submission comes from Women’s Center Program Manger, Zwazzi Sowo.
GLIDE’s Women’s Center celebrated their 5 year anniversary in 2012, marking a half-decade of offering compassionate supportive services to women victims of domestic violence.
Zwazzi has helped the Women’s Center make tremendous strides in its program offerings over the years and continues to show up with a full heart every day for her program participants. GLIDE Founder, Rev. Cecil Williams once said, There’s no one way to live your life, as long as you are authentic. Zwazzi shares what authenticity means to her, “It means speaking up when I don’t want to, fully expressing my feelings, standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.”
