GLIDE HEALTH SERVICES TEAMS-UP WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO BRING MOBILE DENTAL "OFFICE" TO PEOPLE  WITH LOW- AND NO-INCOME

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Glide continues a week of free dental care to students in its Youthbuild program and patients of Glide Health Services via the Access Care Mobile Dental Program out on Treasure Island. The mobile dental program provides dental screening, teeth cleaning, fillings, extractions, fluoride treatments, X-rays and dental health education to youth and adults who do not have access to dental care.

The Mobile Dental Office arrived at Treasure Island on Monday, August 3rd where nearly 60 of Glide Health Services patients and YouthBuild students were given free dental check ups. The diagnosed dental work was performed on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4th and 5th and will continue Thursday and Friday, August 6th and 7th. Many of the students and adults required significant work and some of them were seeing dental workers for the first time.

“By providing free oral screenings and dental treatments to these underserved youth and adults, Glide Health Services is taking crucial step to help their self-esteem, oral hygiene and overall well-being,” said Karen Hill, Glide Health Services Clinic Manager.

The program was funded in part by CPMC Sutter Health; Reverend Carolyn Dyson, Director of the African Breast Health and Sister to Sister Program at CPMC; and Garry Grady, Director of Youthbuild.

For additional information about the program, please call Karen Hill 415.674.6169.
