PAY IT FORWARD by voting to award GLIDE $50,000 from eBay!
Long-time partner, eBay, recently voted GLIDE in the Top Single Selling High Profile Auction category of their first annual Thank You Campaign, allowing GLIDE to move on to the Community Vote for a chance to win $50,000. The campaign aims to recognize non-profit organizations that use eBay to raise funds to better the community.
GLIDE uses the eBay auction platform to promote and host our Annual Warren Buffett Power Lunch Auction. Every year bidders vie for the opportunity to sit down with Mr. Buffett and up to seven guests at a restaurant of Mr. Buffett’s choosing. This year’s Annual Warren Buffett Power Lunch Auction marked the tenth year GLIDE has used eBay to host the fundraiser. Hosting the auction on eBay opened the event’s reach from local to international audiences, making it one of GLIDE’s most successful fundraisers.
The money raised through the auction directly aids San Francisco’s most vulnerable residents through GLIDE’s holistic programming.
GLIDE’s innovative use of eBay for the Annual Warren Buffett Power Lunch Auction earned it the Top Single Selling High Profile Auction title and opportunity to win the Community Vote and $50,000 to further support our programming. The Community Voting period runs through November 6th.
The Thank You Campaign is a great opportunity to do good and win a variety of incredible prizes. To vote, participants first enter to win a prize and then select their organization of choice. Prizes include a Nikon 10.1MP Digital Camera, a Michael Kors Tote, and up to $500 off Final Value Fees on eBay. Grand Prizes include up to $50,000 off eBay Final Value Fees and a 2013 Fiat 500 Arbath.
GLIDE Founder, Reverend Cecil Williams, shares, “Hosting the auction for lunch with Warren Buffett on eBay brings GLIDE’s mission and fundraising efforts to a global audience. GLIDE has been able to stay committed to sustaining its wide array of services for San Francisco’s poorest and most vulnerable residents at a time when funding was short and demand was sky high.”
