Glamorama featured over 100 new looks from Calvin Kelin, Tommy Hilfiger, Weekend Maximara, Maison Jules, Diesel, and more. Live performances feature Grammy Award winning singer Sheryl Crow, the entrancing, gravity-defying Cirque du Soleil, and pop rock quintet The Summer Set.

Today, driven by the philosophy of unconditional love and radical inclusivity, GLIDE is not only a world-renown vibrant church boasting 10,000 members, but also one of the Bay Area’s leading social service organizations with nearly 90 programs that meet the needs of the poor and marginalized. From serving nearly 1,000,000 free meals a year, to proving affordable housing, free or low-cost state-of-the-art healthcare along with dozens of other programs that help the poor, GLIDE is unconditional in its love, support and commitment to the community it serves.

Help Portrait San Francisco

April 2013  -- On Saturday, December 8, 2012, thousands of photographers around the world will volunteer their time and talent for thousands in need. Help-Portrait is an international volunteer movement of photographers, make-up artists, and others that recognize how special the gift of photography is to those that would not otherwise have the opportunity or experience of sitting for a professional portrait. GLIDE hosted a local Help-Portrait event, giving community members the opportunity to receive a professional makeover and printed and framed portrait to take home as a gift. All of the participating photographers and makeup artists are from the Bay Area, and each will willingly donate their time and services to this important event.

GLIDE's Soul Kitchen presents EMMA JEAN FOSTER FIEGE

October 25, 2012  -- Emma Jean is a beloved member of GLIDE's musical family, tells us, “Take that space it’s got your name on it… It applies to women who are going through addiction, women who do not have a clue that they have space.” Emma Jean co-facilitates The Healing Thru Negro Spirituals Drop-In support groups as well leads and teaches Negro Spirituals to the group on Wednesday afternoons for one hour at the GLIDE Women’s Center.

August 27, 2012  -- Jaz is a beloved member of GLIDE's musical family, "I started playing drums at GLIDE with my first performance at 2! For several years, I was part of the youth choir and served as a Music Coach at the Janice Mirikitani Family, Youth and Childcare Center from 2001-2002 and began again in 2008 till the present working with the Youth Choir and Family Music Workshops at the Cecil Williams GLIDE Community House.



August 17, 2012  -- TenderLens is the result of two GLIDE Emerging Leaders interns' passion for storytelling, history, and photography. The project became a process for GLIDE's program participants to explore the Tenderloin with cameras, defining what this space means to them through images and writing.
