Health Services - Registered Nurse or Medical Assistant: Team with Nurse Practitioners and MDs to provide team approach to patient care on a regular schedule Mon - Fri 9-5 or Thurs 1-5.
- Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse: Review abnormal labs & provide triage consultation to certified medical assistants on a regular schedule Mon - Fri 9-5 or Thurs 1-5.
- General Practice Doctors: Socially conscious internal/general medicine providers deliver primary and urgent care in our nurse practitioner-managed clinic. 4 hour shifts on a regular schedule Mon - Wed 9-5 or Thurs 1-5.
- Ophthalmologist: Diabetic and uninsured clients need appointments for no-cost annual eye exams.
- Acupuncturist: 4 hour shifts on Monday - Friday to fit your schedule.
- Clerical Assistant: Schedule appointments, follow up with clients, answer the phone. 3-4 hour shifts available 9am-5pm Mon, Tues, Wed or 1pm-5pm on Thursdays.
- CPR Instructor: Staff & volunteers need CPR certification on an ongoing basis. CPR instruction happens 4 times a year.
- Diabetes Educator: Certified diabetes educators needed for 4 hours or more per month, on a regular schedule Mon - Fri.
- Pharmacist : California licensed and insured, pharmacy permit requirements, on an as needed basis.
- Office Assistant: Needed: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Internet, phone skills.
- Case Manager: Track client goals & achievements & maintain client contract & records. A BA in social work or 2 years field experience & an understanding of substance abuse & recovery is necessary.
- Community Health Outreach Worker: Gain experience working with our client population around issues of HIV, mental health & drug use to promote recovery & positive lifestyle changes. Training provided.
- LCSW General Counselor: Provide preliminary psychological assessment, group & individual therapy, crisis intervention & consulting.
- Psychologist: Perform testing, therapy with an emphasis on sexual abuse & domestic violence, crisis intervention & lead educational workshops. A PhD in clinical psychology & license eligibility is desired.
- Chiropractor: 4 hour shifts Monday - Friday to fit your schedule.
- HIV/AIDS Program Administrative Support: Data input, filing, organizing. Four hours a week Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm.
- Podiatrist: 4 hour shifts Monday- Friday to fit your schedule.
Training and Employment Services - Education Tutor: For youth 17-24 in GED, high school curriculum, Microsoft Office & construction software (scheduling, AutoCad, project management.) Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm, Fri 9am-1pm.
- Assistant Construction Trainer: Assist with construction basics curriculum, counsel re job prospects & construction trade. Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm, Fri 9am-1pm.
- Nutritionist: Offer one-time or ongoing nutrition workshops to young adults. Mon-Fri 9:00am-3:00pm
- Office Assistant: Perform data entry, word, excel, maintain outlook calendar, access , internet, and have good phone skills. Mon-Fri 9:00am-3:00pm
Family, Youth & Childcare Services - Mentors: Provide Glide kids with stable companionship & help them face the challenges of growing up in the Tenderloin by spending 2-3 hours a week with an assigned child. Mentor & mentee determine when to meet each week. Attendance at a 2 hour orientation, a six hour training, background & fingerprint check, a negative TB test, an agreement to maintain a one year commitment to the program, & attendance at mentor group meeting required.
- Tutors: Help bright Glide kids achieve in language arts, math, science, computer literacy, & more. Tutor on a regular schedule between the hours of 2pm - 7pm Mon - Fri.
- Program Aides: Assist teachers, grades K-12 Mon - Fri 2pm-7pm.
- Mental Health Workers Specialized in Teen and Children's Issues: (Counselors, Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Child Development Specialists) Specialized in Teen & Children's Issues. Be part of a clinical team to facilitate case management meetings for adult volunteer mentors and to address the issues facing Glide kids and their families.
- Dentist or Dental Hygienist: Offer a 20-30 minute dental hygiene workshop for 3 age groups of Glide kids, Mon-Fri betwen 3pm-5.30pm.
- Tennis Instructors: Offer tennis instructions to Glide kids, Friday 3:30pm-5:30pm.
Celebration - Volunteer Office Intern: Do you have a passion for Glide and plenty of time on your hands? Have you always wanted non-profit work but never had the experience on your resume? The Volunteer Office is looking for a volunteer intern willing to put in at least 20 hours a week for no less than 3 months starting in mid-April. Excellent verbal and written skills required, along with a positive, friendly personality. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Filemaker Pro and internet experience are helpful but not necessary. This opportunity provides diverse exposure to our various programs and a unique understanding of the operations of a large non-profit. Come help to make a lasting impact on the people we serve!
- Ensemble Singers: Glide Memorial Church membership required. Bring established singing voice to 6:30pm Wednesday aucitions room 201.
- Celebration Office Reception: Support Reverend Cecil Willams' and Janice Mirikitani's staff and answer phones in the lively Celebration office Tues - Thurs 10am-3pm, Sat 9am-12pm or 12pm-3pm, or Sun. 8am-10:30am or 10:30 am-1:30pm. Familiarity with Glide helpful.
- Sales Personnel: Become part of the joyous sales team that sells & inventories Glide merchandise in Freedom Hall after each Sunday Celebration.
- Sales Manager: Organize & schedule joyous sales volunteers who sell Glide merchandise on Sundays in Freedom Hall & assist with inventory. Less than 4 hours a week.
- Ushers: Glide Memorial Church membership required. Serve 9am & llam Celebrations on a regular basis.
- Membership Committe: Glide Memorial Church membership required. Greet inquiring new members after Sunday Celebrations. Plan congregational programs & projects.
General Services - Boeddeker Park: Be part of the Glide team that assists with planting, weeding, upkeep of the charming park across the street from Glide on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am-12 noon. Come one-time or each month.
Volunteer/Resource Program - Corporate & School Group Organizers: Corporations, schools, churches, clubs are encouraged to serve meals. 20 volunteers for each meal means dining room guests get fed quickly & easily. Children age 12 and up.
