Glide Health Services (GHS) operates a community clinic that provides care and treatment to more than 3,000 homeless, indigent and low income people every year, regardless of ability to pay. GHS clients are 60% homeless, racially diverse and a population that has great health disparities.
GHS is a state-licensed, Nurse Managed Federally Qualified Health Center that has received local and national recognition for its work. We are participants of and encourage clients to join Healty San Francisco. Our eligibility workers can enroll clients in the Clinic.
In partnership with Catholic Healthcare West, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, and UCSF School of Nursing, GHS is funded though grants from the HRSA Division of Nursing and the Bureau of Primary Healthcare. GHS provides holistic client-centered care which includes:
- Primary care
- Chronic disease management
- Urgent care
- Case management
- Brief psychotherapy
- Crisis intervention
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Medication management
- Smoking cessation
- Chiropractic
- HIV testing
- Risk reduction counseling
- Diabetic retinopathy screening
- Health promotion and education
- Recovery 90-day outpatient program
- Drop-in recovery groups
GHS is a member of the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium, the California Primary Care Association, the National Association of Community Health Centers and the National Nursing Centers Consortium.
GHS specializes in the training of advanced practice nurses, and other health professionals. By involving future health professionals in the clinic’s care Glide aims to increase the quality and quantity of competent and caring providers to improve the health of the poor in the future.
