Nourishing the body and soul
GLIDE’s Daily Free Meals Program provides three nutritious meals a day, 364 days a year, to the city’s poor, homeless and hungry. What began in 1969 as a weekly volunteer-run potluck for 50 people now serves around 2,000 meals a day. As GLIDE’s largest program, it serves as a gateway to GLIDE’s other programs and services.
Meal Times
The Daily Free Meals program has no eligibility requirements. Clients are not required to complete an intake form prior to receiving a meal.
- Breakfast: 8:00 – 9:00 am
- Lunch: 12:00 – 1:00 pm
- Dinner: 4:00 – 5:00 pm (Mon – Fri)
- Bagged Lunches: 12:00 – 1:00 pm (Sat & Sun)
Meal Times for Seniors, Families and Adults with Disabilities
Special breakfast service reserved for seniors, families and adults with disabilities each morning from 7:30 – 8:00 am.
Holiday Meals
Special meals are served during the holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years Eve.
