The Fall of the I-Hotel

In the 1970’s the I-Hotel housed elder members of the Filipino community.  When a plan arose to tear it down and turn it into a parking lot, Janice Mirikitani and the Rev. Cecil Williams became very involved in protesting.  The building was ultimately torn down in 1981 and work continued to care for those who had been evicted from the space without alternatives and options to those living in the space.
