Serve a Meal

Come volunteer with our Daily Free Meals Program for a truly transformative experience. We require 85 volunteers each and every day to fill the breakfast, prep, lunch, and dinner shifts. Your support allows us to serve approximately 2,000 meals per day to our clients. Volunteers assist with everything from serving food to bussing tables. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and make some beautiful human connections! Sign up for an open shift through the link below!

Volunteers Making a Difference

"As a person of faith, I think that this work is needed no matter where you live but especially in this part of San Francisco and I can’t imagine the scores of people that wouldn’t be able to eat on a daily basis if this program didn’t exist. I’m here a few times a month."

David

"My experience with GLIDE since coming to San Francisco has been eye-opening. Getting the chance to see this side of the world has been really eye-opening, on both sides of the fence. Being able to help people that are in the situation that I used to be in is real liberating in a way. When I first came to San Francisco my partner and I were both IV drug users and we were coming to GLIDE for supplies. Since we were getting supplies and services from GLIDE we decided that’s where we would start volunteering. We started volunteering our time and got more and more involved. And now here we are."

Zachary and Elena

"I guess I just decided to invest here. I would say that that connection, that mind-blowing experience the first time that I went to a service…out of all the places in the city that are meaningful and rewarding places to volunteer, I just felt a kinship here with the community. That’s why I am spending my time here."
