Community Public Safety Forum

Public Safety Community Forum

Thursday, July 24th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, GLIDE is honored to serve as the host organization for a powerful, community-led Public Safety Forum—bringing together the youth, community members, non profit leaders, and city leaders to collaborate on real solutions to improve safety and well-being in our San Francisco neighborhoods.

This timely event, co-organized by over ten organizations including the Department of Public Health, Human Rights Commission, United Playaz, Positive Direction, and the Tenderloin Housing Clinic, will center the voices and experiences of those most impacted by public safety issues.

This will be a space of shared learning, healing, and collective action.

Key Goals of the Forum:

  • Reduce Drug-Related Crime: Establish clear, achievable targets to lower drug-related crime in our communities.
  • Enhance Public Safety: Improve both the lived experience and perception of safety through meaningful collaboration and intervention.
  • Expand Access to Treatment: Increase availability and access to effective treatment and recovery programs for those facing substance use challenges.

The forum will include a welcoming ceremony, a panel discussion, and breakout sessions that allow attendees to contribute directly to shaping community-driven safety policy recommendations.

This is a critical opportunity to engage in community-driven solutions that reflect the needs and wisdom of the people impacted the most by public safety. Hope you could join us.
