She first gained national recognition on RuPaul’s Drag Race television series and is justly famed for her passionate advocacy for the rights of all in the Bay Area. WHY: Stacy Pearson and Terri Harpo, the originators of Springlicious, were deeply dedicated to the empowerment of religious LGBT+ people. Stacy Pearson explains, “this show raises money to fulfill the Glide Pride Team’s mission of helping those in the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. We help remove barriers to being our authentic selves.” The cofounders of GLIDE, Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani, created historic solidarity between the civil rights and the LGBT+ rights movement. Glide’s current presiding pastor, Minister Marvin K. White, is a strong voice within the LGBT+ community carrying on this tremendous legacy of radical inclusion and unconditional love.

About Glide Memorial Church
Founded in 1929 by philanthropist Lizzie Glide, Glide Memorial Church was established as “a house of worship for all people.” Originally serving a working-class congregation, the church faced challenges in the 1950s but was revitalized in the 1960s under Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani. Today, Glide remains a beacon of progressive activism, social justice, and community outreach in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, under the Pastoral care of Rev. Marvin K. White. The church is associated with Glide Foundation, which is renowned nationally for social justice advocacy and integrated comprehensive services which break cycles of poverty and marginalization.
