GLIDE Foundation Announces Grand Opening of Long-Awaited Women’s Center
Ribbon Cutting to Take Place on International Women’s Day

WHAT: GLIDE invites you to a special ribbon cutting and press conference for the opening of our highly anticipated Women’s Center. The GLIDE Women’s Center is a vital and safe resource for women. It provides support, education, and advocacy on issues affecting women. Services include case management, domestic violence counseling, outreach, food, clothing, and housing assistance, and referrals to other community resources. These services are designed to support women in various aspects of their well-being and journey toward stability.

Additionally, GLIDE will unveil plans to offer mental health services for women and families through the Women’s Center. This new service is part of our ongoing #GlideForward strategy to expand programs that empower people to improve their physical, mental, economic, social, and spiritual well-being.

Right now, 34% of the unhoused population in San Francisco are women. That’s 1/3 of the homeless population. And 39% of GLIDE clients are women. There is a definite need in the city for resources for women seeking a better life. We, and our new Women’s Center are here to help.

We will be joined by special guests from the Bay (Women’s) Football Club (link).

WHEN: Friday March 8, 2024, from 11-11:30AM.

The announcement coincides with International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement.
