TAY youth

The Transitional Age Youth Health and Wellness Center (TAY Center) is a welcoming place, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for young adults ages 18 to 27 who are facing homelessness or housing instability in San Francisco. 

The TAY Center is designed to meet young people where they are, offering respite, immediate and coordinated care, vital resources, and long-term support to help them move forward with confidence.  Whether someone is looking for guidance toward education and employment or a space to  shower, this center will be a space of refuge and possibility. TAY Center staff will provide one-on-one mentorship, helping participants chart their way towards stability.
 

It is uniquely co-located at the Lower Polk TAY Navigation Center and is considered a one-stop offering a continuum of care at one centralized location. Young adults will have access to services ranging from basic street respite, one-on-one support services, to structured group activities and classes. 

All services are designed to uplift and empower young people to build lasting stability and independence.

  • On-site mental health support, case management, and therapy

  • Medical care and health support

  • Showers, laundry services, personal lockers, hygiene supplies and clothing

  • Pet care and wellness support

  • Computer and technology access

  • Workforce development and job readiness services

  • Support with completing high school, continuing education

  • Opportunities for community connection, skill building, and wellness activities
