GLIDE to Honor Mayor London Breed
What: GLIDE invites the San Francisco community to join a heartfelt tribute celebrating the leadership and contributions of Mayor London Breed. This special event, themed “Giving Flowers,” will recognize Mayor Breed’s unwavering commitment to GLIDE, the Tenderloin neighborhood, and the greater San Francisco community.
Where: GLIDE Memorial Church

When: Sunday, January 5, 2025 @ 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
How: The event will feature moving musical performances, personal testimonials, and messages of gratitude from community leaders and friends of Mayor Breed. Highlights of the celebration include:
- Remarks by GLIDE’s Minister of Celebration, Marvin K. White, to introduce the program’s purpose.
- Performances by Dr. Gina, President and CEO of GLIDE.
- Speeches from key community advocates, including Del Seymour, reflecting on Mayor Breed’s transformative work in the Tenderloin and at GLIDE, including her leadership on health access, safer streets, meal programs, and a high COVID vaccination rate for the area.
- A personal address from Mayor Breed, sharing reflections and gratitude.
This tribute is a testament to Mayor Breed’s profound impact on advancing equity, compassion, and progress in San Francisco. GLIDE will also present a meaningful token of appreciation during the program.
