2023 ANNUAL GLIDE LEGACY GALA
A celebration of the new faces that are engineering the future of philanthropy and activism
[June 1st, 2023 – San Francisco] The Annual Legacy Gala returns for its 14th year on Friday August 18th, 2022 from 8pm to 12 midnight. The gala this year will take place at the versatile, spacious, and elegant Terra Gallery, on 511 Harrison Street, in San Francisco.
The GLIDE Legacy Gala is produced every year by GLIDE’s Legacy Committee, a young professional advisory board that inspires the next generation of Bay Area change-makers to engage in the life-altering and life-saving work of GLIDE. Members of the Legacy Committee represent diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientation, spiritual, socioeconomic and professional backgrounds, with a shared commitment and passion for social justice and change.
Honey Mahogany, activist, the first transgender chairperson of the San Francisco Democratic Committee, and former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant will receive the Rev. Cecil Williams Legacy Award, for her work in elevating the voice and power of the transgender community globally. Founder and President of New Breath Foundation, Eddy Zheng, will receive the Janice Mirikitani Legacy Award for his continued effort to mobilize resources that support Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) harmed by violence and the unjust immigration and criminal justice systems.The host of the gala this year is the current host of the KQED Newsroom, the long-running television weekly news series, Priya David Clemens.
Following the presentation of the 2023 Legacy Awards, guests will be able to dance the night away with live entertainment from The Glide Ensemble, DJ King Most, Drag Queen Newonce, and more! Refreshments and food will also be served with a highlight on specialty cocktails and GLIDE’s famous fried chicken!
Tickets for the gala can be purchased here. Early bird tickets will remain on sale until June 30th. Regular sale tickets will go on sale from July 1st to July 31st. And ‘Fashionably Late” tickets will sell from August 1st to the 18th. Sponsorship and donations are welcome whether or not a guest can be physically present.
