GLIDE Introduces The Shop!

the shop webpage

Welcome to The Shopa barbershop located in the TL, serving as a safe, therapeutic space for all. Our model combines professional barber services with health education, active listening, and direct linkages to care. Our goal is to combat overdose fatalities, substance abuse, mental health struggles, and social isolation by leveraging the trusted, community-building role of a barbershop.

Glide Foundation welcomes and serves all ethnicities and populations within San Francisco with focused expertise to meet the unique cultural needs of older Black/African American (B/AA) men ages 50+, residents who use drugs and are disproportionately impacted by fatal opioid overdoses particularly those living or spending time in the Tenderloin and surrounding neighborhoods, who also experience social isolation and substance use disorder

The Shop is more than a haircut – It’s an invitation to critical health conversations, building dignity, community, and a pathway to GLIDE’s full continuum of care.
